Motivation

Why am I doing this? Do I want to this? What is the purpose? What do I want to achieve? What story am I telling myself?

A reason always exists. If I acknowledge it or not, my motivation is a sail on my ship.

Often, life throws my tiny vessel into a squall. In those times, I need to understand more than ever:

Why am I doing this?

What is the purpose?

What do I want to achieve?

What story am I telling myself?

On this sea of life, I must understand how to use motivation to keep going towards the purpose.

My methods may have to change.

The destination may look different.

I may have to pause.

I might even have to bail water.

Motivation carries me through the waves of insecurity and fear.

When you lead a team, the team also must understand why. Your team must understand the purpose underlying their goals and objectives.

Otherwise when a method or task become difficult, people will abandon the task, or worse, abandon ship.

Here’s my tiny tip for you. A mast for your sail, if you will.

The bigger the decision, the more important to understand your why.

When your journey gets hard, when the tempest threatens, when you face the whelming flood, knowing why you began is what carries you through to the end.
