Three Questions to Instantly Communicate Better

What would it look like for you if you could manage conflicts and feel confident as a leader?

Imagine if there was a way to get there without all the miscommunication and your own fears getting in the way.

What would that look like? What would you say? What questions do you ask? And how do you get there?

Today we’re gonna talk about three big questions to ask that will instantly improve your understanding EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

❓Question 1:

What do you think about this?

Ask about reasoning, thoughts, data, reference points. And ask what not why! As much as I love a why question, it’s gonna feel defensive off the bat. What do you think gets you there too.

❓Question 2:

How do you feel about this?

ALL  decisions are emotional decisions are emotional decisions. So we have the choice to recognize and process the emotions or ignore them and let them wreak havoc like gremlins. Asking about emotions starts the naming  process (and avoids getting the gremlin wet!)

❓Question 3:

What do you want to do about this?

Action is the only place change really happens. Sometimes it’s really simple;  other circumstances are more complicated. But asking what to do gives insight and invites people to problem-solving.

If you just use these questions, the results almost magically appear. This is part of being an inclusive and effective leader.

PRO  TIP: Ask yourself these questions first before you ask anyone else!  Then you come with an understanding of where you are, where your fears and ideas live. Then you can do something about it!
